Director of more than 50 films, actor, writer, comedian, who started performing as a stand-up artist. In the 60s he started directing and writing comedies and dramas. Allen's genre is satire, black comedy and self-deprecation.

Among his many competitive awards, he has won four Academy Awards, ten BAFTA awards, and two Golden Globe Awards.'Manhattan', 'Annie Hall', 'Match Point', 'Hannah and her Siseters' are some of his best-known pictures.

Film producer, comedy talent manager, the producer or executive producer of majority of films directed by Woody Allen. He launched Woody Allen's film career. After discovering him making a living as a scriptwriter, he got Allen a role in 'What's New Pussycat'.

Joffe won the 1977 Academy Award for Best Picture as producer of Allen's Annie Hall. Produced 'Annie Hall', 'Match Point', 'Sleeper'.

Film and television producer and talent manager of comedians and television personalities. He went on to help shepherd the careers of several prominent comedians with his partner Charles H. Joffe, beginning in 1960 with Woody Allen and later with Dick Cavett, Billy Crystal, David Letterman, and Robin Williams. From 1982 to 1992 he was an executive producer of the NBC series Late Night With David Letterman.
